Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

payroll deductions

my employer allows us to buy merchandise with her buyers discount and have it payroll deducted to pay it back. our verbal agreement was 50 dollars a paycheck. she says i owe much more than i do. several paychecks she has taken the entire paycheck and i get zero. the last one $195 went to ''loan'' and i got a check printed for $0.00

it was done without my permission, is that legal and what can i do? i'm also not the only employee she's done this to. thanks!

Re: payroll deductions

I would suggest that you immediately terminate this arrangement for buying merchandise and, given the facts which you've recounted, would doubt that there's any way to recover any overages which you may have already paid.
