Broken Titanium wires after open heart surgery & bone infection

Wire broke, doctor took out top wires that were broken and bottom wires broke in six places 8 months later. These were removed and infection set in, 5 weeks of antibotics and now the bones are infected. Our cadioigist said that it has been years since she heard of wires breaking. Husbands in pain now for 16 months after surgery.

The real question is whether your husband's care/treatment fell below the standard of care prevailing in the community at the time he received it for this particular heart problem.

It would appear that substantially more facts and information would be required in order to make such a determination, notwithstanding the recent comments of your current cardiologist who apparently was not the one who rendered the treatment which apparently dissolved into broken wires with the resultant infections.
