Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama

Bad Check Laws

I wrote a check to Wal-Mart that was NSF in 2001. I moved and never received a letter from them notifying me of this. I was arrested on criminal charges in 2006 for theft of property (Wal-Mart) and had no outstanding warrants when I was released, and none when I went to court and paid my fines. In 2007 I was stopped for a traffic violation and was told I had a warrant for a bad check on Wal-Mart -- I had no checking acct since 2001 and was confused -- what do I need to do?

Re: Bad Check Laws

You need to call your local District Attorney's office or whatever the department is that performs check NSF prosecution in your area. DA is first place to call.
