Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Hi, my boyfriend and I currently split up and we have a 5 month old son. We were able to work out an agreement on child support without us having to go to court (he and I will renew the lease on our apartment for 6 months and he will pay half of the rent) My question is custody. Since I live in Arizona and Arizona tends to favor mothers, do I have more of a say? For example, if we agree that our son is visiting him for a certain amount of time and if that time is up and he refuses to give my son back to me, if I call the police, will they be in my favor?

Unless you have a court order stating the parenting time breakdown, the police have nothing to enforce. I recommend you file to establish paternity, legal decision-making authority, and parenting time. Without more information, it is difficult to provide you with an in depth answer.
