Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I have a strange case. I was involved in a hit-and-run and I was able to turn around and follow the guy to get his license plate and he slammed on the brakes on purpose and I hit him. The police took over an hour to come and he got rid of his daughter that was in the car , a minor , because he called someone to come pick her up. I believe she would of told the cops the truth so he was nervous. I got arrested for DUI .8 and the hit-and-run case I’m not sure what to do with it. Nothings being done.I got the police report and there’s lots of errors and also I actually found a witness a few days later and him and his wife saw everything of the guy hitting me and making a U-turn and running. My question is this , Can I be the DUI case for the cops lack of investigation and the errors that were in a police report. And what can I do about the hit-and-run case? Thank you in advance for your assistance and help have a blessed day.

"What to do?"

Unless you already know how to effectively represent and defend yourself in criminal court in negotiations with the DA and at trial if necessary, you should hire an experienced defense lawyer. He will be able to 'educate' you in the realities of what you can and can not expect. No amount of free tips and hints is going to train you to do so.

Credible witnesses are certainly important to have a defense case, so he will want to 'lock in' their testimony immediately.

If this is in SoCal courts, and you are serious about hiring counsel, then feel free to contact me to discuss the case and fees involved. If you have no money to hire private counsel, then request appointment of the Public Defender at your first court appearance.
