Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Definite discrimination and diversity issues

In a company were I've worked my way up from the bottom to management. I was and still am the only female manager with this company. Although this fortune 500 company has other facilities with female managers, this particular facility never has had them. I was quickly faced with some definite discrimination issues. After being in a management position for one year, my position had been eliminated. There was another equivilant position available but instead they promoted and hourly male employee. It wasn't until I expressed some concerns did they quickly change it. They offered me the position and I only accepted because I really didn't have a choice. I am a single mom needing to support two kids and continue to have the same salary. My current boss just recently told me to get married so I wouldn' have to worry about my salary. I've since asked to be reassigned or transferred but the company is preferring I stick around to help with the diversity and culture problem. There's plenty more than this if your interested.

I would be interested in hearing more. Some companies never learn.

Give me a call if you would like. I will be at a hearing Thursday afternoon and Friday. But I will be in the office most of the day Wednesday.
