Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Sexual Discrimination

Do I have any recourse for personal attacks on my work performance while as a female probationary employee by my immediate male supervisor that have been proven time and time to be not true accusations. He has caused me alot of stress on the job by giving me written repremands for behaviours that have no merrit in order to build a case of incompetance to harrass me into quiting my job. If relieved from my probationary position I would still remain in the city, because I demote to the last position I held, which is not what they want. I am going to see a doctor about taking stress leave, would this hender my case against the city if I have one? I don't know what to do.

Re: Sexual Discrimination

Chances are, if you work for a city, there are published guidelines on how to address complaints of either sexual harrassment or discrimination based on gender. Contact your equivalent of the Human Resources department, and ask for any written policy.

You may want to consider speaking with an attorney to have them review any written reprimands that you have received.
