Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Background check/Verify employment

I asked a question before about how much can ex-employer could say about me since I got terminated from the banking job? The answer was anythign that true. The truth was I was terminated because of forcing balance and that reason was on the paper that I singed the day I was fired.

The prospect employer told me that when they called to verify the employment, they were told that the reason I was fired because of ''Performance Conflict''. That's stopping me from getting a job. Is this right? If I signed the termination paper state that I was forcing balance which is severe enough to ruin my life. Actually my life was ruined already and now they tell my prospect employers that I have a performance conflict. Isn't it called Deflamation?

if you think your former employer is making untrue statements to prospective employers about the facts surrounding your termination, you can file a claim with FEHA (Fair Employment & Housing). They may investigate your claim. Good luck . . .
