Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Training Without Pay....

I was under training for a Tow Co., on my second day I was informed that I had to finish a 12 hour per day and 6 day week before I'd be intitled for any pay.

I had not signed a W-2 Form or any paper work.

Is this legal?

Thank You

Re: Training Without Pay....

Employees are entitled to pay for work they perform on behalf of their employer. This would include time spent in training at the employer's direction. Your employer is obligated to pay your wages for the time spent in training, and must pay you for even partial days that you work. If you have trouble collecting your wages, should contact California's Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
