Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Tenants' Rights

I have extensive roof damage to the degree that water drips into my apartment. The whole is near electrical outlets, water heater as well as my valuable items. I have reported this problem several times. In addition to this, a ceiling fan is hanging unsecured from my ceiling, my front door is slightly ajar even when locked, the lock itself is coming apart on the door, and now my mail box lock is broken. I have taken pictures and have reported the damages to my landlord. Unfortunately two weeks have past without any attempt anything. I want to report her and would like to know my rights as a tenant, what steps I need to take to report her and to whom.

Re: Tenants' Rights

Call the Health department. But do not be suprised if they make you leave if it is inhabitable or safe.

Good Luck,
