Legal Question in Product Liability in Florida

wood in Barilla pasta sauce

I purchased Barilla Tomato and Basil pasta sauce. I warmed it and put it over our angel hair spaghetti. My husband and I began to eat. About half way through our dinner, my husband (a vegetarian) bit on something very hard while chewing and swallowing his pasta. He spit it out, but then realized something was in his throat and coughed that out as well. It looked at first to be a sharp bone, but getting a closer look, it seems to be either a piece of wood or bark of some kind about 3/4 of an inch long and about 1/4 inch at it's widest point. We were lucky that we only had a scare, but this could have killed a child. What should be done?

Re: wood in Barilla pasta sauce

Since no one was injured I would write a letter to the company. Keep the bottle and piece of wood you found since they will want it.
