Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana

I'm going to be laid off from my job in a couple of months and will probably need to go on unemployment. I'm in a type of job that is hard to find. I just spent a week in the hospital without insurance and have to go back for another surgury in a couple of months. I'm currently paying on the first bill but once I lose my job i'm probably going to have to file bankruptcy. I have a couple of thosands in savings. Will I be able to file brankruptcy with money in savings and a 401k? Would I qualify being on unemployment. I currently make over $40,000 a year and have no other debt. My medical bill will be close to $50,000.

A lot more detail is needed in order to determine whether you would qualify for bankruptcy. You should consult an attorney in person.
