Legal Question in DUI Law in Louisiana

DWI Law In Louisiana

I have one DWI from before I was a legal adult and 2 more from after. According to LA law, 3 DWI convictions means I'm a felon. If the first conviction occured before I was 18, does it count toward my 3 total? Also my first 2 convictions were expunged.

The key is if you were 17 when the first offense occurred. 17 is an adult in Louisiana criminal law.

I agree with Mr. Casanave. Not knowing your age, I cannot go into much detail. However, DWIs are cumulative and even if expunged, they count. My best advice is no matter what happens this time, you need help and you should get it before you kill yourself or worse, someone else. Good luck.
