Fighting for custody

My husband is fighting for custody of his son, the mother of the boy is living off of the boys ssi check and she does not work,my husband does work and we know we can provide a better and stable life for the boy,what should we suspect from the judge??please help

I assume the mother is living off the SSI check AND the child support your husband is paying. Just because she is poor does not mean she is a danger to her son. Don't expect custody to be changed especially if your husband has not been paying child support, whether she asked for it or not. If he is not paying support because the SSI would be reduced, then that is worse. Letting the taxpayers pay for his son.
