Drug paraphenalia

A cop stopped me and my friend in Maryland in a park at 1:30 am for trespassing. We were smoking salvia which is legal. We ditched the pipe which had been used recently for marijuana. He took my license and info and eventually let us go with no write-up. I drove by the area about ten minutes later to try to retrieve the pipe and saw the cop with his flashlight where we dropped the pipe. He definitely found it, and given the circumstances, he must have assumed it was ours. It had residual THC, my fingerprints and may still have been hot. Once he has my info, but let me go, is there any way he can still pursue this, or are we off the hook for good?

No, he could now file charges with the District Court and you may get a criminal summons to appear. If you do receive a summons, or are further questioned by the officer, make no statements and call an attorney immediately!
