Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Schizophrenic wife appointed as legal guardian to mentally ill husband

My brothers wife, who is a schizophrenic, was just appointed as the temporary guardian of my 60 yr old brother claiming he is mentally ill. Is this appropriate, or legal? She is more mentally ill than him. If we( estate) object to her appointment what can happen? The court has denied him a guardian ad litum. This case has been in court for 5 years and she has acted ( illegally )as his lawyer throughout the case. Will it legally hurt me to protest her appointment as temporary guardian?
