Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

My mother passed away recently. She left a will written 25 years ago. She was in a long term nursing home for 3 years and drained all assests and received Medicaid the last 6 months. Her checking account is joint with me and life insurance benefacted to me, a small amount. Since there are no assests, do I have todo anything with the will?

I'm sorry your mom passed; very sad.

Unless someone demands you show authority from the court for some particular purpose, no, you don't need to do anything with the will. My dad's will was not probated when he died, because everything was joint with my mom.

Good luck.
