Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

How long can police see my DUI at a traffic stop?

I am aware that a DUI stays on your abstract permanently in NJ, but how long does it show up on police computers when they run your plates or conduct a traffic stop? Also is there any way to get your DUI record expunged or sealed in NJ?

DWI convictions stay on your record permanently and, because they are a type of traffic violation, they cannot be expunged, ever. If you have any other questions about this please feel free to contact me. Thank you.

Driving records can not be expunged.

IF there WERE a way to get a DUI removed from your records, do you think any of those politicians that have been written up in the paper would have been written up in the paper? I think not...
