Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

I just incorporated, i have a small tow truck business, a driver hit a cyclist at 7 p.m at night. The cyclist was taken to the hospital, had no broken leg.. did have bruises and contusions is in an aircast. Cyclist got 2 tickets, for no reflective clothing, no lights, he was all in black (36 years old and on cellphone) Driver never saw him.

Can I get sued? How long does he have to sue me? My insurance dropped me now.

What should I do?

Q. Can I get sued?

A. Your corporation may be sued. However, it would depend on whether the cyclist wants to sue your company.

Q. How long does he have to sue me?

A. Three years from the date of the accident.

Q. My insurance dropped me now. What should I do?

A. Purchase new insurance. New York requires moving vehicles to be insured. Other than that, there is nothing else to do.

Mike.
