Can a subpoena to produce documents be served from Pennsylvania to a business out of state by certified return receipt mail.

Re: serving subpoenas

A subpoena can be served in a foreign jurisdiction by certified mail, but unless the company being served can be made subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Pa., there is no way to enforce the subpoena if there is a failure to comply. If there is a failure to comply, you would need to seek relief in the courts where the deponent is located.
