Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

Property after an divorce

My divorce states that my spouse and I have possession of the property that we are responsible for. After being divorced for 10 years a creditor phoned and stated that a truck that my spouse after the divorce in my name has auctioned off and they state that I need to pay the debt or else they will garnish my wages and place a lein on my house. Can this be done and what rights do I have, if any?

Re: Property after an divorce

It will depend on the exact terms of your final decree and MDA, if any. You may have to go back in front of the judge to have him/her deal with the issue.
