Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Tennessee

Is this sexual harrasssment?

Recently, I found out that sexual harrassment charges are pending against me at my place of work. Needless to say, I was utterly disgusted with the notion that anyone would make such an allegation, and I started to think about who could be the ''victim'', and what behavior or words could have been misinterpreted as sexual harrasment. I remember telling an off color joke or two, but I always inform the person that it is such a joke and give them an opportunity to tell me that they do not want to hear it. So, if this is the origin of these charges(joke), didn't the ''victim'' have an obligation to stop me when I prefaced the joke with a warning that the joke might contain some off-color material?

Re: Is this sexual harrasssment?

The person hearing the joke likely does not have an obligation to stop you from telling the off-color joke. Your situation could be precarious with many charges of sexual harassment resolved by the company against the alleged harasser. It would probably be a good idea for you to speak with an attorney so that you can take the best steps possible to protect yourself in your employment.
