marriage term

my mother in law just died. She remarried 1 year ago. What legal rights in Tn does the new husband have?

The answer would depend on whether your mother had a Will. If she did not, he would be entitled to at least half under Tennessee laws of intestate succession. If she did have a Will and did not mention him in it, since they were married for less that 3 years, he would only be entitled to receive 10% of the estate.
