Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Will & Estate

My father who is single has been living with a woman for 3 mths. She has legally changed her last name to his. He does have a will. Should anything happen to him can this woman be granted any portion of his estate based on the fact she has his last name even though they are not married?

Re: Will & Estate

She is not entitled to anything just because she now shares his last name. They would have to be legally married in order for her to receive anything.
