Unmarried - Seperation

How to seperate, living together for a year. Not married, purchase of home in one person's name.

How do I handle this situation withou loosing my home that is in my name?

If there was no marriage (ceremonial or common law) the parties are partners in ownership of the house. Their percentage ownership corresponds with the amount each person contributed to the purchase price - down payment and reduction of principal on the mortgage note. A court has authority to divide the property (not feasible with a house), order it sold and the proceeds divided or order one person to buy out the other with the penalty of it being sold if that does not occur.

I suggest you figure out the percentages of ownership and buy out the other party.
