Legal Question in Medical Leave in Texas

Refused FMLA

My Mother has to care for my father who has polio and advanced diabetes so he requires a trip to the hospital once a week for about 3 hours. My mothers company (exceeds 70 employees) has flatly refused to give her FMLA ,just 3 hours a week , and they told her if she did not like their response she could leave and not return. Do we consult an attorney now? Is it worth it? All my mother really wanted was to be able to care for my father for a few hours a week without losing her job. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you

Re: Refused FMLA

Yes - consult with an attorney now. Your posting does not reveal much of a reason that the employer would have for denying FMLA leave, so you would probably want to consult with an attorney as soon as possible.
