Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Paid meetings?

The company I work for would normally pay it's employees for for meetings and would fire or give Write-ups to those who didn't attend. Recently, with new managment, they mentioned that we wouldn't get paid for the past meeting we attended because we made too much money for that week. Is this legal?
