Legal Question in Family Law in United States Minor Outlying Islands
Illegal marriage
Sir/ Madam,
I am left confused, dont know from
where to start. My father is now an
US citizen, living there for past
25yrs. We guess he has been
married several times without
divorcing my Mother. Through some
sources we came to know that he
got kids through whom he got to be
a citizen there. I am trying to
acquire some information online
through ussearch.
He doesnt help us financially. He is
not answering to our emails or
phone calls. Now, he is threatening
my Mother for divorce. Please help
me and let me know how to
proceed against him legally. We are
a middle class family and father is
very rich.

Your Mom may file a case of "abandonment" and "domestic violence" in USA; alternatively, she may lodge a criminal case of "cruelty" and "domestic violence" in India and armed with the "look out" notice that may be issued by Police, she may approach the authorities in USA for action. You may first find out his whereabouts before initiating action. 25 years is a long period;
