Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Ggarnishments

Hello the question i have is what are my legal rights in a garnishment case. Because i have a garnishment from another state and i was never there at a judgement hearing. so the garnishments are taking place and i called the creditor and asked for a history of all the payments i made and they would not give it to me. i asked for a copy of the contract. but any way on the garnishment summons there is a judgment principal of $5943.53 Credits $1357.60 interest $466.79 Judgement costs 24.00 garnishment costs $60.00 and total Balance Due $5136.72. I asked the creditor what the credits were and they would not tell me, and i have paid a total of $3523.65 in garnishments. and that leaves a balance of $1613.07 but the creditor stated i owed $1993.57. I thought once you have a judgment for a certain amount that is the amount and to get it increased you have to go to get another judgment to get it increased.

Re: Ggarnishments

Interest on the judgment and court costs continue to add to the judgment balance.
