Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Hi Sir/Madam,

I am already a permanent employee of a company and wish to work as a consultant (contractor) for another company. Will this decision incur any legal obligations. I am in India

Dear Sbobhit,

In all probables, your present employment terms and conditions will surely prohibit you from taking up any other work or engagement without the prior written approval of the employer. You would be risking your present job if you take up the consulting engagement without your employer's prior permission.
