Legal Question in Elder Law in Arizona

conservatorship

my mom has advanced dementia in hospital for last 2 wks. I live out of state, came to take care of things. filed emergency guardianship/conservatorship papers. guardianship granted cnsvtrshp not. hearing set for this Thursday, i have no financial means to move her to home and w/o cnsrvtrship no access to her funds. Can conservatorship be denied on Thurs and if so who would they give it to? I need advice as to what I should take to my hearing and if I do need a lawyer, one who will take case and get paid after I am granted conservatorship due to finances.

Re: conservatorship

If the court denies your petition for appointment as your Mom's conservator, it is not just given to anyone else. Someone else would have to petition for appointment.

I would be willing to talk with you about representation, however, I need to know more about what is in Mom's estate, what the assets are and what the income is. Who has been taking care of her medically and financially up to this point.

Send me an email at once and give me a number where I can reach you.
