Legal Question in Family Law in California

Equity

Husband filed for divorce, married for 8, add. 3living togeather. I brought 10,ooo into relationship, used for everyday diving. Bill already was buying house. He is self employed. Worked for him for 2 years,1 year at Vet.as recept.he wanted me to quit that job. My health started to decline faster, started taking care of his mom, for 2years. His name is on everything. He says he can kick me out on street, as I have no money. Am applying for ssi, I have an inoperable Nerve condition.

Is it true, that I am not able to receive the equity that has built up during the 8 years of marriage?

We bought a 48'' Trailer, which adds to his percentage, he is a furniture Mover, he says I am not entitled to any of that as well.

I have not been allowed any money, even going to grocery store, I must give him the receipt, as well as the change, so he was abe to get a lawyer.

Please Help!!!

Re: Equity

What your husband is telling you is not true. You will be entitled to a portion of the equity in a family home and possibly other property bought before and/or during your marriage. You are also entitled to an attorney, and the court has the power to order that funds for your attorney are paid through the community property. I urge you to talk to an attorney.
