Legal Question in Employment Law in California

My old boss wont pay me for the construction jobs I did for him. I have receipts, witnesses, etc etc. What can I do? I already notified the department of labor...

You can file a complaint with the Division of labor Standards Enforcement, which it sounds like you did, or sue the employer in court (small claims court, if less than $10,000). Or you can hire a lawyer to write a demand letter to the employer, which sometimes works.

An 'employee' can file a wage claim with the CA Labor Commissioner, not ."department of labor".

A 'contractor' can file a lawsuit for breach of agreement.
