Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Contrator Failed to pay & Cover Employee WorkersComp.

I work for a Lincensed Contrator, who hardly showed up on the job. I've completed approx.90% of the job myself, I find out weeks later that I am not covered by workers Comp, Nor has the Employer has paid me any money, and is not planning on it. During the job the Homeowner wanted several additional jobs done and I said I would have to clear it with my boss, Homeowner said,''Fuck Kenny, I'm the boss! How do I get my money from the Contrator, and who is responsibile for the additioal labor cost that was completed? Now the Contrator walked off the job,and refuses to pay me many hours of work .I've been on the job for approx. 6 weeks and never recieved any compensation?

Get a local attorney to file a mechanics lien and pursue your claims against both the homeowner and the contractor.
