Legal Question in Employment Law in California

A couple of months ago I was charged with embellzement for giving a discount at this store I was working at. I gave it to my boyfriend (we live together) and while I was ringing him up I noticed a coworker starring at me. I was really anxious and ended up giving him a larger discount then I should have. When I got hired It gave me an option to put his name down for a discount because we live together. I ended up getting fired! They told me that I should have never put his name down because he wasn't my husband. Which Is weird because on mY paperwork it said you could put down a dependent or someone you live with! But they told me that was for same sex couples only? I was pretty upset but I paid the company back the next day which was around 100 dollers. What do you think will happen in court? I hired an attorney by the way and have been working in retail for years and this has never happened to me before! I'm also pregnant and hope that everything goes okay.

This is something that you should discuss with your attorney. It is not a good idea to disclose details about a pending criminal action in an online forum such as this. Talk to your attorney about it in private.
