Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Small town hotel shut down without notice. Corporate came in and said here's your pay. 14 LONG TERM dedicated employees are out of a job. Is there any type of compensation that they can expect or demand (?) legally?

Employers owe only payment of wages and accrued benefits due. There is no requirement of severance or other payments. Sorry, but look for other employment. You aren't the only ones this is going to happen to in the collapsing economy we likely face.
