There is no law limiting the number of consecutive work days.

The overtime laws may apply to your situation, but it is not possible to tell without a more detailed review of your time records. You may want to talk to your human resources director (if there is one) or the payroll manager for your company for clarification. If that answer does not seem satisfactory to you, then you may want to either contact the California Department of Labor Standards Enforcement (www.dir.ca.gov/dlse) or a plaintiff-side employment labor for assistance.

Mr. Perry is right that there is no limit on consecutive work days, they just have to pay overtime for the seventh day in any week. The employer gets to pick what day the week begins and ends on. So in your case I'm sure what HR will tell you is that their week begins and ends at midnight between Saturday and Sunday. That means you work one week from the second through the seventh day, and the next week on the first through sixth days. No overtime owed.
