Yelling Boss

I work in a small office (5 employees). My boss/ Owner will yell and belittle me and other employees. What rights do I have to get this stopped.

Re: Yelling Boss

You have the right to quit. We don't have any laws the require employers to be nice. Naturally, they cannot hurl racist names, or use sexually offesnive language, but if this bully is an equal opportunity abuser and his offense is to yell and belittle people, your only recourse is to leave. If it makes you ill, you may have a basis for a workers compensation claim, but see a workers compensation attorney, first, before you make such a claim. Otherwise, look for another job. No job is worth being verbally abused.

None. Unless the conduct amounts to Title VII style discrimination based upon race, age, sex, religion, etc, it is not illegal. Complain to management or get a new job if it is just 'yelling'. If it is discrimination then contact me to discuss your rights and remedies.
