Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My apartments told me if I didn't stop complaining about the pest in my unit they would put me out. I continued to complain until they sent out the pest control. They found bed bugs in my unit. I was given a list of instructions to follow to prepare. I followed them when the pest control man came out he found some residue from where I was doing my own treatments and stated I needed to remove that and he would come back next week to do the service. An hour later I had a 30 day notice on my door. I do not want to move I want them to fix the problem. What can I do? The apartment manager stated they were going to hold me liable for all pest control cost and that I needed to leave. I know I have legal rights as a tenant.

I suggest that you consult with a landlord tenant attorney about what you have written about. It appears that you are being retaliated against. If you cannot afford an attorney, consult with your local legal aid clinic about the situation and your recourse.
