Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I was just rear ended. My curren insurance policy had termed due to non payment and I had not yet renewed. I believ my driver's license is currently suspended due to a past bounced check which I was just recently notified of. Due to I had no fault in the accident what consequences will I be entitled to? Will his insurance still be liable for property damage?

It's my understanding that the insurance should cover property damage and medical bills, but pain and suffering will not be covered.
