Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

child custody

I have a joint custody case coming up. It is going to be held in a week from now in another state and there is no way I can make it due to funds. What can I do to either push the date or have the files and case schduled in my state.

Re: child custody

If you are not represented by an attorney, you need to call one and hire him (at least to try to continue the case for you). If not, write the Court and send a copy to the other side about a continuance and the reasons why. Lack of funds may not be a good one as you should have been preparing for this for a long time.

Your chances of getting the case transferred to Florida are slim, nothing, nil! Better be prepared to be there!
