Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Need to collect $16,000.00 Assets avail

I owned a towing business in Ft.Laud, due to the usual (divorce) I decided to shut down. When I put the word out a friend who also owned a tow co wanted all my business and for me to run his. His co was also in sad shape.

So we teamed up, his drivers were of the not wanting to work kind, and used to the laid back job that they had, therefore loosing all of my clients (which was quit a bit of clients).

Our agreement was for $1,000.00 a week to run his outfit, bring in my clients and also bring in new clients. My job was done correctly but never did collect any monies as promised. 16 weeks went by when I decided it was not going to work as planned. So we parted ways with an agreement that he owed me the money and we would work it out. Its been a year and his reply now is ''do what you have to do''

His mother owns the corp. and the co does own numerous trucks property and office equip (there are assets)

They have changed names but the original corp. is still active per Div of Corp.

I am seeking advise on how to collect this debt and if there is someone in the area of Broward who could help with this matter on a contingent basis it would much be appreciated.

Thank You

JD

I am a little confused and unsure if you were an employee of this new firm and are seeking wages never paid or if you sold your old company to him and were never paid for that sale. Do you have any contracts or signed documents or writings of any kind to support your claim? If you were ever paid anything, even for the first week, that would help support your claim. I think you need to talk to any attorney in more detail to better determine your rights in this matter.
