The statute of limitations establishes a deadline to file a lawsuit in court. There are deadlines for all types of claims, including medical malpractice (2 years) and automobile accidents (4 years). These are the general rules, but also some exceptions that apply in special situations, which may shorten or lengthen the deadline. Without knowing the facts of your case, one cannot say what the exact deadline would be. We would be happy to speak with you about the situation and could give you a more precise answer after hearing the facts of your case. We offer a free consultation, with no obligation.
