Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child Visitation of mothers rights

I have a son who is almost 5, me and his father were never married. He took my son from me about 3 years ago. He won't let me have any contact with my son. He lives in Georgia and I am in Alabama. We lived in Alabama at the time that he took our son across state lines. I don't want to take my son from his father all I want is visitation. Where do I go from here. I am lost and don't know what to do. Please help!

Re: Child Visitation of mothers rights

You can file a petition in the Superior Court of the county in which the child and the father reside to request visitation. A hearing would be scheduled and the judge would make a decision as to what visitation schedule you will have.
