Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

Auto Insurance

If someone is driving my vehicle with my permission and is involved in a serious car accident and was not involved, will my insurance also pay. The at fault person has 25/50 in coverage and I have 25/50 in coverage. The injuries are extensive.

Re: Auto Insurance

Hello - I am sorry to hear about the injuries your friend sustained. Ordinarily the underinsured coverage will get a set off for the 25K paid my the at fault company. But the law has recenlty changed regarding uninsured motorist and there are many possible ways to "stack" coverages so in order to give advice on the matter a good look into the policies must be done. If you would like to call my office I would be more than happy to explain in more depth. Thank you, David Lipton

Re: Auto Insurance

Due to some changes in Georgia law, the answer gets complicated, as there may be different ways to stack coverage. To be able to fully answer you, I'd need details on the coverages and the accident (and whom the policies cover). Feel free to call my office to set up a no-cost initial consultation.
