Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Citation to discover assets

A previous landlord's atty had been garnishing my paychecks for my balance owed, I lost my job and then I got a notice to appear in court. The balance is under $700, I cannot take time off my new job to go to court, can I just send them the money directly?

Re: Citation to discover assets

You have to appear if ordered to do so, otherwise the judge can issue a body attachment. You should contact the attorney directly or hire an attorney to do that for you.
