Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Giving up rights as a father

Recieved a hearing notice for a paternity test for a baby that was born in the past year, I want to give up my rights as a father, what can I do? Will I still have to pay child support if I give up my rights and I have not seen the child since it was born, and my name is not on the birth certificate.

Re: Giving up rights as a father

If you are the father then a court will enter a child support order against you furthermore you are entitled to visitation rights of the child.
