Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

Undisclosed car accident

I bought a car about 3 months ago and in the time it wore through 2 sets of tires. Therefore I took it in to be aligned. While in the shop it was discovered my car had been in a major car accident and could not be aligned. The body bars are bent. When i purchased my car (less than 5,000 miles ago) I asked if it had been in any accidents and i was told there were no accidents and it was in great condition. Is there any action I can take against this?

Yes, definitely. You may have a fraud case against the seller. Did you get a Carfax report or a mechanic's report when you bought the used car? Did you buy it from a new car dealer or a used car lot?

Tahnk you for your question. You can sue for misrepresentation. Depending on the amount, you may be able to sue in small claims court.
