Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

My Dad was in an accident over 2 years ago. The other driver is suing for greater than the $250,000.00 insurance limit. At the time my Dad was in good health and working. Since that time his mental health was deterorating over the last 3 months and he needed to be placed in a nursing home. The car insurance lawyer is asking to get discovery from him at the nursing home; even though I gave him a physician letter stating he had alzheimer's and was not reliable. I do not know what to do?

I am unsure of what you are saying. Whose attorney is seeking discovery from your father-the one appointed by his insurance carrier? That aside, did your father receive a reservation of rights letter from his carrier? Does he have private counsel? It sounds to me that you need to consult wiht an attorney in person and have all correspondence and documents available for review.
