Re: am i being sued?

YOU are being sued. They may only want to reach your insurer, but you are the one being sued. Your insurer most likely is obligated to provide you with an attorney to represent you. Usually, this works out best for you and the insurer, but sometimes there is a conflict. The attorney is supposed to represent your interests and yet they are paid by the insurer. If a judgment is entered against you in excess of the insurance coverage, or the insurer claims the injury is not covered under the policy, you could be the one on the hook. It is best to contact your insurer right away and it does not hurt to get your own attorney to review the insurance policy and advise you of issues that might arise between you and the insurer.
